Placer One

The Placer One Community

The 2,200-acre Placer One master-planned community, previously known as Placer Ranch, is being implemented through a partnership among Placer County, Sacramento StateSierra College, and Taylor Builders. In creating one spot for residents from Placer One and surrounding communities to gather with a myriad of exciting things to do, the partners envision the project as an area anchor.

The Placer One name reflects a vision of inclusion, togetherness, and ingenuity. Designed as a “one for all” destination, Placer One celebrates one common spirit, one center of innovation, all in one premiere location.

Placer One includes a major employment center, town center, university, expansive parks, and natural open space that will be connected by an extensive bikeway network with shopping and dining districts, and diverse residential neighborhoods.

Placer One is designed to create a lifestyle balance with abundant art, community and edible gardens, parks, biking and walking trails, and interactive areas that promote learning and growth.

The community is envisioned to become a regional epicenter characterized by educational and cultural enrichment, innovative and sustainable design,  connectivity and inclusivity, and personal growth opportunities.

A major component of Placer One is the 300-acre Sacramento  State Placer Center. Brought about through a collaboration between Sacramento State and Sierra College, the center will expand access to a four-year degree, delivering a new model in higher education that ensures educational opportunity and economic prosperity for generations.

When the campus first opens, it will accommodate 1,500 students. Upon full buildout, the Center is planned to accommodate 25,000 Sacramento State and 5,000 Sierra College students. As an extension of Sacramento State, the center will provide hands-on learning opportunities and community-engaged learning, with students working within the Placer community.
